At the end of an exhilarating day in the mountains, you will be able to sit and relax in the sauna or in the hot tub on the terrace, listening to the calming sound of the river...
The small ski domain of Roc d'Enfer is just 1.3km from the chalet. With a ski school, an ice rink and 50km of slopes of various levels, it's a great choice if you're looking for quiet, uncrowded slopes. If you'd like to explore further afield, it is linked by bus to other resorts in the Portes du Soleil, and Morzine is just a 15-minute drive away.
In the summer, you will be able to enjoy many wonderful hikes and cycling trails, as well as activities such as canoeing, climbing and via ferrata.
There are a couple of shops and restaurants in Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, including a Carrefour supermarket (4km), with more in nearby Montriond (7km) and Morzine (9km).
With six bedrooms, all with their own en-suite bath or shower rooms, as well as a spacious living area with several seating areas, this charming, two-storey restored farmhouse offers plenty of room for up to 12 guests.
The main entrance takes you into the top floor, where you'll find a small hallway with storage leading to the bedrooms. There are two master suites, with kingsize or two single beds, a TV and an en-suite bath and shower room. There are four more double rooms, two of which can also be arranged with two single beds. All of these rooms have an en-suite shower room.
The spacious, open-plan living room is on the ground floor. There's a seating area in front of the television, cosy sofas in front of an enclosed fireplace and another area where you can sit with a book or enjoy a quiet game of chess. Two large sliding windows frame a wonderful view of the forest, and open onto a large furnished terrace with a hot tub and stone fire pit. It's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal in good weather, or simply soak up the sun.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cater for a large group, including a three-oven Aga and two dishwashers. The large dining table has room for everyone to sit down and eat together with views over the forest.
There's another bathroom on this floor, as well as a separate WC and the sauna. The laundry room has a washing machine and dryer, an additional fridge and plenty of storage space.
There's parking for at least six cars outside Chalet Fleur d'Aulps.
When you stay at Chalet Fleur d'Aulps, you'll find great skiing, hiking and biking in every direction. Situated in a secluded location outside the village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, it's just 1km from the Roc d'Enfer ski lift and a short distance from the larger Portes du Soleil resorts of Morzine (9km) and Montriond (7km), both of which can be reached by bus.
The Roc d'Enfer ski area has 50km of slopes, a ski school and an ice rink. Outside the ski season you can enjoy activities such as go-karting and hire electric bikes or all-terrain vehicles as well as wonderful biking and hiking trails. The beautiful ruins of the Aulps abbey, with its restored farm and gardens, are just a 15-minute walk away. Head to Rocher de la Chaux (4km) for climbing and via ferrata.
Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride.
Morzine and neighbouring Les Gets have earned the "Famille Plus" status for their excellent childcare and entertainment, so this area is the perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in both resorts and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledge runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages.

This chalet is amazing! It has a sauna, a jacuzzi, a huge kitchen and living room, and a fireplace. All the rooms have their own bathrooms, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Honestly, it’s a 5-star chalet.
We were a group of 12 enjoying the autumn colors while having the comfort of a welcoming home. We have nothing to complain about regarding this accommodation: it is ideally located and fully equipped. We highly recommend it.

St Jean d'Aulps - Morzine
At the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Europe's largest skiing area, Morzine offers great winter sports and plenty of summer action.
Ski, hike or bike into Switzerland, enjoy great lakeside walks, explore mountain villages or just relax in one of the village's many restaurants or bars.
With a superb swimming pool complex, adventure park and a choice of spas, there's always something new to explore.
Chalet Fleur d'Aulps is a charming, restored farmhouse with accommodation for up to 12 guests over two floors.
There are six double bedrooms on the first floor, including two master suites with televisions and their own bath/shower rooms. These rooms can be arranged with a king-size bed or two single beds.
The remaining four bedrooms each have large double beds (one can also be arranged with two single beds) and en-suite shower rooms.
The living area on the ground floor has a large well-equipped kitchen with an Aga stove and a large dining table where you can enjoy meals together. A four-sided fireplace separates the dining area from the various seating areas – get together on the cosy sofas, watch TV together, enjoy a game of chess or curl up with a good book.
In good weather, the terrace is the place to be – there's a hot tub with great views of the mountains, a dining table where you can enjoy a barbecue, or sunbeds where you can relax and listen to the nearby river. And in the winter, you can light the fire pit and enjoy some stargazing!
Chalet Fleur d'Aulps is in a quiet location just outside the village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, and just 1.3 km from the small ski domain of Roc d'Enfer. The busier resort of Morzine is just a short drive away (9km), while the lake and village at Montriond are 7km away.

Welcome to our mountain home from home.
We fell in love with the Alps and Chalet Fleur d’Aulps when we lived in France for a year while our daughter was in middle school, improving her French and ski-racing.
Chalet Fleur d'Aulps became ours not long after and has been the hub for many wonderful ski holidays, summer celebrations and any other reason we can find to bring us back to this oasis in the mountains.
We hope you find the area as spectacularly beautiful as we do. Returning to the chalet after skiing or hiking is a treat in itself … the beauty of a barn built in about 1797, combined with all the comforts and cosiness of a much-loved home, will make you look forward to spending time at the chalet almost as much as the wonderful activities that surround you.
